Подключение USB WiFi

Здравствуйте.

Из-за скоропостижной смерти (не по моей вине) модуля WiFi пришлось подключить USB WiFI Dlink DWA-140. Проблема в том, что при подключении питания от мощного источника напряжением 12 вольт всё работает. А когда пробую подключить виртурилку с этим USB WiFi через три последовательно подключенных АА элемента (4,6 вольта суммарно), то WiFi не подключается. Поэтому вопрос:

Необходимо внешнее напряжение более 5 вольт (например добавить ещё один элемент АА) для работы USB WiFi или тут критична мощность источника питания?

Хорошо, а что посоветуете? Литий-ионные аккумуляторы? Батарейки то ещё выполняют функцию балласта :)
